MN Campus Compact Retention Summit

Dr. Laanan participated in the "Navigating College Student Retention" sponsored by the Minnesota Campus Compact. The Summit was held June 25-26, 2007 at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota. At the Retention Summit, Dr. Laanan conducted two workshops on the following topics: 1) Strategies for Successful Transfer Students; and 2) Building a Culture of Evidence. Additionally, he was one of two scholars (along with Dr. Buffy Smith, University of St. Thomas), who responded to the keynote address by Dr. Peter Collier (Associate Professor, Portland State University) titled "Students First: Improving First-Generation Students' Performance and Retention in Higher Education."
